If is was too easy it wouldn’t be fun

I have been doing Nyzul Isle Investigation since it came out.  Not religiously, but have formed static groups whenever I could.  My latest group is 5-6 core members with a fill-in or two for people wo can’t make a run.

We have been mixing up some floor 80 runs using my disc (saved @ 90) and advancement from floor 1.  During advancment runs I have been bringing my mule Tramontane in the hopes that he can eventually get the WHM Mythic Weapon Skill (Mystic Boon) ^^.  So far our luck has not been too bad on floor 80 bosses (2x Goliard Saio and 1x Askar Korazin), but disc progression for us has been a different story.

Now I have seen my share of miserable floor setups, but during our floor advancement we just cannot seem to get a break.  Most humorous example was last week’s floor 20 where we had amazingly easy time that included a free floor only to reach the boss and have a no job abilities restriction.  We were still able to pull it off – thankfully, we could still Weapon Skill, but it did make things interesting when the RDM could not convert.

We had planned on going for 3 tags last night starting at floor 36.  Our usual setup is breaking into two ‘pods’ RDM + 2x DD and WHM + 2x DD (hmmm…. maybe I will make a separate post on how I like to setup the team).  This time, we had no readily available RDM so we went with two WHMs.   Hey, it’s only floor 40 right? lol

After a timeout during the boss on our 1st attempt, we went at it again.  Second run was looking just as bad.  Bodies hitting the floor… SAM getting terrorized during his 2hr… Unfortunate TP move downing one of the WHMs… Was good times.  Fortunately, the only drop was a BLM staff that no one needed, since I was popping the exit just as the 30 second warning came up regardless of what was in the treasure pool.

At least we all have floor 40 saved now.  Next up are the ToAU bosses.  Yay?
